Rochelle Park City Guide
Rochelle Park, New Jersey is officially a township which is, for this particular state, simply one of five types of municipal government and is a fully-fledged town—with a fancy name. Though the population is a modest 5,530, Rochelle has seen a growth spurt of 2 since the last Census ten years ago when the population was a mere 5,528. This New Jersey town was named after a French city, La Rochelle.
Residents of this township love the small-town feel, so you won’t find a lot of big city problems, like traffic or high rises or a downtown area. However, you’ll still find plenty to do if you don’t mind venturing outside of its 1.063-square-mile boundary to the neighboring towns of Maywood or Paramus. There you’ll find the AMC Garden State 16 movie theater, the performing arts theater New Vision Players, and the Steuben House, a history museum, which is the only surviving building from the American Revolution’s 1776 Retreat Through Bergen County.
