Dishonest/Unreliable Pricing

Long-story-short: When I arrived for my reservation, I was told that the price my unit was reserved for could not be honored. Full story: I was shopping for storage-spaces in the weeks before a big move (about a 2-hour distance). The best pricing I could find (for the type of unit I was needing) was through SelfStorage, for the StorageMart on Hickman and 68th. It seemed almost too good to be true, but a couple of calls (to both SelfStorage and StorageMart) confirmed my reservation. However, when I arrived to check in, I was told that my RESERVED unit was no longer available for the price I'd RESERVED, and that there was nothing that they could do. StorageMart mentioned that because I'd made my reservation through SelfStorage, the pricing was not guaranteed, and that SelfStorage sometimes exaggerates their listings to attract business (which is not something they can control). Mind you, I'd also called StorageMart to confirm the original price, but I digress... If StorageMart cannot honor the prices offered by SelfStorage, they should not be in business with them. Ultimately, because it was the day before my move, I had no choice but to agree to pay almost double the advertised monthly-price ($140, compared to the $85 I was promised). Overall, it was a horrible experience on both ends, from both companies involved.

We just moved into two climate controlled units at Storage Mart Hickman. The price was some of the best that I saw during my research for units around the area. The units are clean and close to the door, but a little tricky to access with a large truck/trailer. Overall we're happy with the location and units!

I am perfectly happy with all the on-the-ground service and the facility. Also, the information on the website was very helpful in selecting a location and size of unit. However, I went to the office on, March 4th and signed the lease for my unit, bought a lock, and checked in. I was told I could begin using it whenever I was ready. Then I began getting emails automatically generated from the web site, I presume, telling me the 15th was my move-in date and suggesting I was to pay a particular amount right away. I received a special offer of first month free when I signed in and have an automatic payment set up with the office. I had to call the manager to be sure this was still in force and that I could move in any time. She said yes and checked online to be sure you had my lease registered, or whatever you do. It was. So I wish you would make your automatic system generated by my first signing in online synchronize with what actually happened when I went in to sign my lease and arrange for payment. This would save me confusion and save the local staff and me time on unnecessary phone calls. I just checked "yes" to your query about my moving in on the 15th to try to get the emails to stop. I will actually be moving in over a two-week period starting on the 19th. Thanks. Victoria

nice, clean units, pretty tight to navigate.

Nice place, love all the cameras but I had to lose the auto transport just so I could navigate it. Another customer was there and he had a truck and trailer and was fighting the tightness.
