Price Self Storage Murphy Canyon Rd is the largest storage facility in San Diego Located just just off the I-15 freeway between Aero Drive and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard just north of Mission Valley, serving the communities in and around San Diego, Kearny Mesa, Clairemont Mesa, Serra Mesa, Miramar, Misssion Valley, Tierrasanta, North Park, La Mesa, and Mira Mesa.

Open 7 days a week, this clean, well-lit facility features unit sizes from 4x5 to 10x40 with a large selection of ground floor units with drive-up access, extra wide elevators to upper level units, and state-of-the-art security including personal computerized gate access and and video cameras in key areas. This location features extra wide driveways and large truck turnaround. If you need a place for store your toys we also feature RV/Boat and vehicle parking. We offer month-to-month leases, competitive rates and no deposit required. We provide courtesy carts to make your move easier, and our professional resident managers are available to assist you. Friendly and Secure

I just moved stuff in. The staff was helpful and friendly whenever I needed anything. There is a bathroom in the office which is nice. You can use their carts by checking out a token from the office. The units seem super secure, it is all steel, kind of like being in the hull of a battleship or something.

Office personnel very rude and initial saleslady gave false information

I received the free first month ($364) rent but office personnel had an absolute awful attitude with me for no reason. I was sold on the price but also misled about total charges and key security. Still, I couldn't beat the overall bottom line price so I put up with the lies and bad attitudes

efficient and clean

Customer service professional and friendly, process of renting and moving in was easy, access to the unit was unimpeded and well-lit throughout, large elevators, safety measures were excellent, locks available for sale at the front counter, free carts available for moving heavy items. My only suggestion would be to provide a map of the building corridors to so that finding the unit on my own would be simpler. I don't remember things as easily as I used to.

Price Increases

Since I have been renting here for less than a year the rent has gone up twice. I will be moving out and renting another unit the same size cheaper. If you rent watch out for the rent increases. I will not be recommending this storage facility to anyone I know. Very money hungry.

Best storage facility there is, was, and ever will be

This place is super efficient, secure, clean, and just all around the best storage facilities I’ve come across in my travels. Whether you’re going to need daily access before and after work, or need long term storage that you KNOW will be safe and sound, price storage is definitely the way to go. They’ve got pretty fair and competitive pricing, they’ve got better hours than most other facilities in the area, and most important of all, the place is clean and secure. I use price storage for a reason and truly they are a cut above the rest of the facilities in the area !!!!

Free access to moving truck

Fast and easy sign up online, their best deals are online too. While I was looking at the different options I noticed that they provide a free moving truck for four hours, which was great! Their driver drives it and they provide moving blankets and a dollie as well. Moving isn’t fun but they help make it easier!

All you need and great service

First, Anna at the front desk is queen! She took awesome care of me from the time I first called. Great location for easy access. Second, Chris got me squared away with a lock and paperwork then drove me for a tour of the unit in a golf cart. Got a great price with free first month’s rent. Next, I got a free huge truck delived and driven away (Thanks, Julio!) on moving day. Anna again set me up with just what I needed when I arrived. All went as best as it could possibly go. They made my reservation easy by comparing locations, unit sizes, prices.

I reserved a 10x15 unit on the 3rd floor at the Price Self Storage on Murphy Canyon Road in San Diego. When I arrived with my UHaul truck I was so tired and the time was late. I realized that I didn't have the time or energy to haul everything up the elevators. They were so kind and found me a ground floor unit (for a reduced rate similar to what you offered on your website when I originally booked). They were wonderful. They are very helpful to us 'older' folks and I sure appreciate their kindness. I also appreciate your website service Sparefoot, where you are offering us lower prices than the storage places are offering. You are helping me to save money.

The staff here at Price were very friendly and accommodating to all of my needs. They made the process easy and quick. Signing the paperwork was a breeze and the staff helping me explained everything I needed to know with ease. The outdoor storage space I put my car in was large enough for me to have room on either side of my vehicle without worry that it would get damaged. It also felt to be in a very safe and secure area. I would definitely recommend Price for your storage needs!

A lot of street level storage, but priced at a premium.

Customer service is good, but wouldn't come down on price. $208 for a 10x10 seems too high. I like the access though. One problem is the place only allows access from 7-7. I am used to 24hr access or 6am-10pm. I haven't found better in SD area, but am looking.

One of the better storage places

Great customer service and amenities such as gated facilities and cameras. Perks were free use of dolly, moving truck/driver, first month free rent and spacious facility grounds with someone living on site for monitoring. There were 2 things that weren't necessarily dealbreakers for me but may be for someone else. The first thing is that cylinder locks are a requirement ($15). My husband and I don't feel as if they are the best lock. The second thing would be that there is a required 15 day advance notice of move out. There are so many variables and scenarios, but I would prefer some leeway since my life is unpredictable.

I rented space for my daughter and her boyfriend while she is in college. The customer service provided by Chris in order to make this happen without me being present was very much appreciated. Unit we initially reserved full of stuff

We had an overall good experience with the exception of one thing. We reserved with spare foot. When we came to the storage unit for the first time to finish the paperwork, we asked to see the unit. They opened the door to "our unit", and it was completely full of junk. It turns out that the last unit in our size was the one we reserved... And the one full of stuff. They didn't offer to move the stuff out, but said they would give us a discount on the next larger size. We wanted them to comp the additional cost and give us the next larger size at the price for the one we actually reserved, but they were unwilling to do so.

Employees were nice, low price. Unit was close enough to elevator with decent access, wide hallway. Only reason i didn't give 5 stars is because we had our movers waiting in their truck for much longer than they should have. When you're paying $120 per hr for movers you need to get in & out of storage as fast as possible. However, we had to wait while some customer was just complaining & talking about something insignificant (he had already been helped). Then when we are helped, the guys at the front were nice & knowledgeable. However when we were taken back to our unit, the guy took us to the wrong side of the building. So movers had to close up the truck & move again to go find the right one. It was only frustrating because we were on a time limit with the movers. Otherwise everything else was easy & employees were nice & friendly.

Tough place for furniture

Any storage inside the building is difficult for furniture. Some of the units even the 10X15, have standard doors that are difficult to move furniture into. Plus the hallways have standard doors, so you need to move the furniture through those doors just to get to your unit.

Great Customer Service | Full Transparency | Everything Felt Good

I found a great deal on SqareFoot and made my reservation. Price Self Storage confirmed the reservation within 10 min with a phone call. Great communication and I felt safe my unit would be there as promised when the date came to move my stuff in. I watched the prices online and I still had the best deal around, for the size I was looking for, between their retail rates and other storage locations. I was nervous they would work themselves out of the rate once I got there but they held it. I took my SquareFoot email confirmation in, went to see the unit and as promised everything went smooth for the rate I had initially been quoted. I even saw someone come in while I was there and get the same unit I did for $12 more a month. The terms were par for the industry, paperwork was very easy with their system and I had my unit filled within an hour of walking in. Great job guys!

Excellent all around

From beginning to search for a storage place to move in day, it's been a good experience. Love the use of the truck and driver - what a bonus!! The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is clean. The only problem was the size of the doorway in the hall. It was smaller than the hall so made it a little harder to get the sofa thru, but not impossible. So if you have big bulky things you might want to make sure you get a unit closer to the elevator.

It is a very clean facility, and easy access.

I like this facility, it is very clean and spacious. It is just very hot!!!! You can't be there for a while because you start to feel faint because of the heat! But overall, I like it and would recommend it to a friend. It would also be nice if you could have a unit for good will, other facilities do have one. It is also very helpful for the people who need furniture and can get it from good will, which in turn can get it from you (coming from us) when we actually get tired of just keeping furniture. I mean, when you give furniture away, it must be in good condition, and that is what other facilities ask for, that when you give away, you give away something that is useful to other people. So that would be nice to have in this facility at Price Self Storage at Murphy Canyon.

I rented a 10 by 10 on the 3rd floor in B building. While I had my own dolly, it would have been helpful if the staff at the front had recommended that I leave my ID at front and also use one of the flat dollies that require a plastic token from the front desk (in exchange for your ID). The elevator was quite slow, but adequate size for my stuff. I really think that cost of their required insurance is quite high, especially since I already have renter's insurance that covers the storage locker. Both Ericka and Julio were easy to work with and pleasant. I was pleased with the staff and the facility, but sad that I am so poor at placing stuff in my locker in the proper order. Asi es la vida!

Overall my experience was a good one. The only mishap was that my reservation through sparefoot was not in the system when i arrived at price self storage. The customer service representative Erica did everything she could to take care of the error. She called sparefoot and had them (re)send the reservation, to insure i was getting the price I reserved online.

I think the advertising is bait and switch. The 5 x 5 advertised online is more like 3 x 3 and you have to go through hoops to get them to honor the online size and rate.

This unit is about par with most other storage units. However the staff are a jewel. The only real draw back is the lack of enforcement of secured access. I observed ongoing double entry/exit on one persons access code.

Fabulous Storage Facility

We just moved here form out of state and they were very helpful and we even got to use the FREE truck and driver to get our things from our apartment to the storage. Their carts are awesome too! Definitely would recommend!

The girl at the front desk was beyond helpful and she even let us have extended hours. As students who needed to pack up their dorms for the summer that very evening this was an incredible thing! She showed us the unit and taught us how to work the keys. It was truly a great experience

Just a couple of tips. Unlock the storage unit when it's rented out to a customer. It was locked when I arrived to use it the next day. I was on a time crunch but it was unlocked within three minutes of my call to the office. On the other hand, it was said multiple filmed that carts were available for use but it was never explained how to use them. I had to walk all the way back to the office to learn the process and get tokens checked out. I then had to walk all the way back to the storage unit to get to work. Not good while on a time crunch. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant.

Clean, organized and lots of units

The customer service was very courteous and helpful. The paperwork took 10 minutes. I rented the truck, the driver was also the maintenance/security person. He was personable and friendly. Storage unit was clean and a good price. The facility appears to be very secure.

Good location, Great Service!

The Staff at the Price Self Storage Murphy Canyon are REALLY awesome! And when I had an issue with my lock, the staff was very quick to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. This is a secure facility, I would recommend this place.

A Very Helpful Staff, Super Price, Convenient Location

1St. Time using a Storage & found everything to my Liking. Location is good, Price was reasonable, Staff were Great. Only issue, I had, was lack of Tokens, used to unlock carts, on the day I started to load my Storage. It took about 45 Minutes, waiting, till one was returned & given to me.

Great Customer Service

The customer service rep. was very helpful she answered all my question and made me feel at ease, especially with the hectic move. I called multiple times just to verify many things and she was always pleasant and let me know what i needed to do in advance, because my brother was actually needing to get the storage for he is active duty marine. I will definitely recommend this storage facility to anyone and everyone.

I came from another storage facility so I have something to compare it to. I am very pleased that I moved my stuff over to Price. It's closer to home for me. The unit was very clean and the on site maintenance man came over and swept it out before I moved my stuff in. The front desk staff were very nice. I condensed two storage units into one so that I could cut my expenses. And I did, saving myself a little less than $400. monthly! Everything about this facility was a positive for me!

My experience here was the best ever. From the first phone call I had with Price Self Storage until I drove off the site, every person I dealt with was friendly and cared about my concerns. They worked with me and showed me additional available units until I found a unit that met my security concerns. I was also impressed that they provided a driver and truck so that I could move from one storage facility to Price Self Storage more easily (had I known that I would have moved sooner!). I am only sad that I spent 20 years at my previous storage unit. I would definitely recommend Price Self Storage to anyone looking for great customer service, a convenient location, and a secure facility. And while price isn't an issue, it appears that their prices are very competitive, too!

Kyle and Angie...outstanding helpful people...cant thank enough...the only problem i had...angie was kind enough to let me have 24 hour access on May 17th 2012 to move my duaghters belongings intothe storage facility past 7pm...when i arrived to finish the last load at about 730 pm...all the lights were off in the corridors...it's really difficult doing a move in the complete darkness...and i figure i lost some things....but couldnt see to know.

overall good deal, cart token system a drag

I had excellent help selecting my storage unit with Daniel. He showed me a total of 3 different ones, because the first two had water pipes and overhead ventilation taking up space, so I really appreciated his patience. The only complaint about the pricing is not having the $8 mandatory insurance included in the advertised price. When I returned to move in, I wasn't too thrilled with the cart "rental" system. You have to give them a piece of ID for a token to unlock a cart. In my case I hadn't seen the carts in advance, because there were none by the elevator of my unit. I had no idea they were so small, so after I'd walked down to the office for one token, wandered to other side and other end of storage unit building to find a cart, realized I'd need two when I saw their size, walked back to office without wallet, only to be told I couldn't get another token without another piece of ID, I was getting rather hot and irritated. It just seemed ridiculous to me that they can't make a note with your ID the amount of tokens you have! When I went to return the carts, two security guards told me I'd better take them back to exactly where I'd found them, I couldn't just return the carts to any empty slot. Wow, who knew it was such a big deal to get your crap in and out of the facility? But beyond that, it seems like a great location and great price.
