Open lot is junky

The open parking lot looks more like a junk yard. A collection of vehicles that look inoperable and neglected. A vehicle graveyard. I guess that’s what you get for $98 per month at Public Storage.

Messy

The unit I have rented was supposed to be ready by Thursday afternoon which didn't happen. Apparently maintenance had to be done which should have been handled before showing the unit available to rent. The unit was finally available to move in yesterday evening after 5pm so when I went their this morning around 11:00am, there was broken glass, nail and screws at the door opening so I had to pick up all these items before we could back up into the space to keep from getting a flat tire. When leaving, around 11:45am I stopped by the office to show the attendant what I had picked up and no one was in the office and no sign on the door stating where they were. I am very disappointed to say the least.

It’s a space that’s available in a location I need it in. I love that I was able to do contactless check in and move in. I did everything virtually and didn’t have to talk to anyone Bc everything I needed was online through my reservation page step by step. Very good

Not what I expected

Arrived on the 16th around 11:45. I overlooked the keypad to enter. So I was trying to get some assistance but the office was empty. There was a note saying manager will be back at 12pm . So I didn’t have to wait too long. But still inconvenient. When she did arrive she helped me locate the code entry pad. But didn’t ask me if I needed help finding my storage and I didn’t think to ask cause the email I received was supposed to have a map. But map didn’t have the info I needed. Storage overall wasn’t what I expected. Lights in the hallway of my storage were very dim and could hardly see . There was no light whatsoever in the actual unit. Kinda worried about pest and weather damage.

Horrible experience

Went in to do a storage rental by appointment because I prefer to do in person and not use my card info online. Came in with my 8 year old daughter and the attendant working was on her phone and acted like I was an inconvenience to her and started yelling when I said I did not have a mask and offered to cover up my mouth with my shirt. She said no YOU NEED A MASK. I said that I have breathing issues but asked if they had a mask as many businesses do and she started yelling that she was going to call the police on me if I did not leave. I asked if I could stand outside and hand her my card or read off the card to her and she got nasty and belligerent I asked to speak to her supervisor because the way we were being treated was not right. She refused and said she was calling the police while I was with my 8 year old daughter. At that point I pulled out my phone to start recording the incident and explained under the governors order if you have breathing issues you are exempt from the mask requirements. She then proceeded to call the police and I recorded the rest of the interaction. I then called Public storage corporate and spoke to someone to get her district managers contact number and even asked if they could help me complete the rental over the phone which they said they could not. I called the district manager and left him a message and waited for the police to arrive. I spoke with the police and offered for them to watch the interaction and they said that was not needed. She then requested for the police to ask me to delete the recording or I would be banned from the premises which I said I would not as I am going to share the video with the district manager and I am sure they have internal cameras for him to review before I started recording. If a business is going to have a mask requirement the least they should do is offer masks. I have breathing issues and I have had no problems anywhere else I have done business. I would have worn a mask for the 5 or 10 minutes if they had provided one but under the governors

Not so good and customer service

I rented a space for my trailer. prior to renting the space, I looked at the actual space to make sure it was going to work. When I came back to actually park the trailer in the space there was a large truck parked directly across from the space which left me with no room to maneuver the trailer into the space I had rented. I went back to the office and canceled the space and asked if there was some way to get a refund as only three days had passed since I had signed the contract. I was told that they would ask the regional manager to see what could be done. Since this time I have not been able to reach anyone and nobody has returned my calls. I guess that means I will not be receiving any type of a refund. So instead they get a bad review for all to read about Public Storage's poor customer service.

Overall nice facility

Overall I have no issues. Facility is clean. They did charge me $20 for a lock for my particular unit because it didn't allow a regular lock. I felt this was ridiculous, but I had no other option since they did not have another unit of the size I needed. After I remove my stuff from the unit, I will have a lock that doesn't work for anything else.

Heard a lot of good things about this location from the pricing to the staff. I found myself needing storage as we are doing updates to our kitchen. My friend referred me to the pineville location and I am happy they did. The girl at the front office, Coco, was extremely helpful in finding me a space suitable for my things. I saved a lot of money on my 1st months rent and it's just a month to month basis which is great since I plan on being out in a few months. If you're looking for a facility where you know your items will be safe and secured and can rely on getting wonderful customer service every time you go in, go to public storage in Pineville. The two persons I have dealt with have been courteous, very helpful, & kind. One of the woman I have dealt with several times (I think she may have been training when I first rented my storage place) was especially nice & treated me with a very business & professional manner, and was very helpful in person & on the phone. I've rented storage places before & my experience has up to this point felt unprofessional almost slimey, so this has been a very positive experience.
