Always has trouble keeping employment help

When I first got my unit no one ever there to talk to or pay my payment always somebody different in the office the past couple months the lady there now is really nice and helpful but I would recommend if you're belongings you're looking to store there mean anything to you or have value rent your own insurance to cover your belongings because the insurance company they provide provide and want you to pay extra for is a bunch of straight b******* and do nothing but give you a run around

Issues

Hardly anyone ever in the building no one answers the phone over half the time. The price that I was supposed to be locked in on has gone up significantly was not supposed to go up.. Still not to high compared to other places..I go in to pay my bill and no one’s ever there!! then I end up with a late fee if I don’t get there by the fifth and no one answers the phone so I can find out when someone will PHYSICALLY be in the building to take my payment.. I don’t want to use my bank card & don’t have a checkbook to leave in the box, it’s very frustrating.. other than that the storage unit is not exactly filthy but I had to clean my unit out myself before moving my stuff in.. no riffraff is a plus… no one loitering around I’ve been there late at night before and felt somewhat comfortable. But the most annoying part is that I can hardy reach management to find out when someone will physically be there so I can make my payment on time & to not end up with a $25 late fee because no one is there… it’s very frustrating that’s the biggest issue for me, so unless you have a credit card & you feel like letting them take it out automatically every month .. not everybody does things over computers or phone or a credit card I prefer to go in and personally give my payment, so if you’re like me, Good luck getting anybody to take your payment or phone call! I doubt I’ll win the gift card but it would make up for those late fees lol.I’m sure it could be worse but it is frustrating other than that it is a good facility and when I’m actually personally in touch with somebody they are helpful as possible.

The reservation and move-in process was very easy and straightforward! Excellent price, decent online interface, and simple auto-pay process. Easy to get in and out of the facility, no real complaints other than the lack of lighting in the unit itself, which is fine. Got a nice referral bonus for my friend. Simply Self Storage is an excellent option to store your furniture and other items that you need to put away. The pricing is reasonable and the security setup of Simply Self Storage is very good. Keep in mind, don't store high end valuable items. That is not what any storage units are for. Simply Self Storage is highly recommended and their customer service is great.

You save lots of time by using Sparefoot and not having to call all tof the storage parks in your area. They help you find the best place or places and then it's a seamless handoff to the actual park. There are no changes to the inital special rate. Tiffany was great but since 10/19 I have left 4 messages and sent 3 emails asking for the rate page she showed me, the one that shows how rates go up after a certain number of months. Also I looked at your website again and see nothing is mentioned about the mandatory $9 insurance. That should be more clearly explained.

Excellent customer service and is very secure. Easy to get to for campus storage. But I thought I was only paying for a month. Had to pay for all of August even though I was there for only 2 1/2 weeks. Didn't explain beforehand that it ran from the 1st to the 31st.

Overall, it was good but we only needed the storage unit for two weeks, between leases in the campus area. We moved in, in late July, which was prorated, but had to pay for all of August, which WAS NOT explained when we reserved over the phone. Only when we were there to sign the paperwork and it was too late to find something else, did we find this out.

I was extremely disappointed to find nobody there when I arrived at 12:20 and then saw "back at 1:00" sign on the door. Sat 40 minutes in my hourly rental truck. The mandatory $9 per month insurance charge should be disclosed up front - price was misleading.

I found an internet rate however once I filled out the paper work at the facility, they had to charge me $9 more a month for insurance because the unit we rented was near the railroad tracks. We did not have the option to waive the insurance. This should have been disclosed up front.

Unexpected charges

I rented a space for a month, only used it for 3 days, then moved everything out and notified them of my departure within the month. Soon after, I received emails from them asking me to take a survey to tell them about my experience. I assumed everything was done, but 4 months later I got a notice from the collection agency saying I owed ~$170. I made some calls and finally figured out that I needed to write them a letter, however, when I had first called to notify them of my departure, nothing was said about this and I thought everything was okay. It's unfortunate that a miscommunication (probably on both of our parts) could leave a damaging mark on my credit. It also would have been nice to receive at least one type of notification to tell me I was racking up late fees with rent, especially since my space was empty and unlocked the entire time (which on the receipt it states in the moveout section: If we find your space unlocked and vacant, we may assume you have moved out and rent the space to someone else). Other than that, everyone was very nice to me on the phone while I was trying to resolve this. Suggestion for future customers: Actually go into the store and make sure they take your name out of the system. If you're not going to do this or think you might forget to, you might want to look for another storage place, but don't say you haven't been warned of the possible consequences.

Every storage place has two locks.You are required to buy atleast one lock from the owner of the facility and the least expensive lock from the owner worths $9.99.This is somewhat unfair.It would have been good if the tenant could buy both locks at his own.
