Melrose, Massachusetts is a suburb in Greater Boston with a population of just 26,983. The town’s name was officially Ponde Fielde, then changed to Mystic Side, North Malden, Town of Melrose, City of Melrose, and is now simply Melrose. It was going to be changed yet again to Melrose Place, but Fox TV claimed that name first.
