Great first time experience in Chicago
I rented the unit to store my sonâs stuff over the summer. The process from finding the location online, called the customer service line with questions, filling out the paperwork and moving in went very well. Once I made my reservation, I received emails to confirm. On the move-in date, the process to see a unit and fill out the paperwork was slow due to Covid restrictions. The staff in the office were very efficient, friendly and responsive. The move in went quickly despite the fact that it was a busy Saturday. I would rent here again.

Great service
We moved into self storage 1 on a Saturday and had incredible service. The staff was very professional, funny, and tended to all of our needs, especially the store manager, Colin. They were extremely flexible and organized. The truck they lent us was so extremely helpful and we couldnât have been more grateful for it!

Excellent facility and really amazing staff.
I highly recommend this storage to others. As we live out of state and are storing our college student's apartment belongings for the summer, we did not know much about storage in Chicago. The manager of this facility, Colin, was very professional and extremely helpful. The facility is very efficient for moving in items, very secure, and extremely clean. Everyone working at this business was so nice. Again, I highly recommend this facility if you have storage needs.

Couldnât be happier with this company. Everyone I spoke to on the phone and at the front desk weâre very friendly and helpful...they even suggested a smaller (cheaper) unit once I described what I planned on storing.
The key amenities are all there...security, temperature control (between 55-85 degrees), three unloading spots with carts and elevators, easy to find parking nearby, and the use of a free moving truck for moving stuff in!! (within a ten mile radius)
And with all that said I was expecting a higher rate but was very surprised and happy to see it was significantly lower than other quotes I saw. Was easily a no brainer to store my stuff with them.

I've been using Self Storage 1 for almost a year and haven't had any issues. The price is very competitive for the area, the facility is clean, and they have early morning/late night access hours which makes it convenient to swing by before or after work. The automatic bill pay is convenient, too.

Amazing service and value
I pretty much never write reviews, but I have to say, this company is awesome. Even though I'm only giving them $70 a month, you'd think I was their most important customer. I even used their enthusiasm as an example to help our own support reps at my firm! Great company. No reason to look elsewhere.

I was helping my son, who was moving from out-of-town to the LIncoln Park area, find a convenient storage location. Since I myself was out of state, I was particularly pleased with the personal attention we received over the phone to make the whole process go smoothly. Everyone was so helpful, it made us feel like we were in good hands. My son has had absolutely no issues with Self Storage 1-Lincoln Park! GREAT facility!
