When I arrived they had only one loading dock working and someone was there already but wasn’t really unloading anything, and said it is the only loading dock right by the elevator. The other is in the back of the building for the other units in the back. They also stated they only had one dolly for the entire facility, and they were unsure of where it was or who had it, so overall unloading everything took way longer than I expected with all the set backs. They provide a tubular like lock but no instructions on how to put it on, so I had to come back the following day after receiving a call it was put on improperly.

Zhee was the best person I could ask for at this location! She was very helpful and accommodating during my move in process! She started her customer service BEFORE my move in when I placed my reservation, she was informative and involved the entire time!

What a great experience
What a great experience. The district manager was present and more than helpful and even after he left the young lady that help us was very very well informed and pleasant and more than will to help. I have had really bad experience with storage places and was very surprised to feel so welcomed and helped. I have told lots of folks about your place and your staff. THANKS

You get what you pay for
Although the price is a bit misleading online, (when you add the mandatory lock for 19.99 and the insurance, of 15.00 per month) the storage itself was clean and monitored by security cameras.

Great price, great customer service and great facility!
David, the staff at the Hyattsville, Maryland site are fantastic! Rae, and the other,( whom I'd rushed off to work,but,I'll learn of her name as well)reviewed all of the pertinent information, performed a walk through with me, as well as instructing on how to usr the keypad for entry. They went the preventive measures for " moisture control" and security! I'm extremely pleased with rental rate and prime location of the facility!

Public Storage on Tuxedo Road in Hyattsville, MD
Public Storage on Tuxedo Road in Hyattsville, MD is a very good value for the storage market here in the area - close enough to DC proper but 1/2 the price of most DC locations. Facility is clean, easily accessible and the on-site property manager is excellent and very professional. Only 2 complaints: 1. Moving carts should be available at the back loading dock, not just the front one. In other words, please purchase more carts so customers don't have to retrieve and wheel back carts through 2 doors and 1500 feet from the front to the back docks - VERY inconvenient. 2. PS policy of the "you have to purchase OUR key for $19.95 because we don't trust your lock" is ridiculous and smacks of unfairly cornering the customer at contract signing because they have no choice due to "policy". It's a BAD policy. The same exact locks are $5.99 at Walmart. If you are going to force new customers to use your locks then they should be complementary - now THAT is a good business policy. Then charge the customer if they lose or break it. And I can assure I have far more faith in my monster Masterlock than the flimsy cylinder lock you've charged me $20 for. Lesson: going the little distance of providing the new customer a complementary lock PS probably pays $3.00 for in bulk builds good trust. Gouging them unnecessarily feels like you're taking advantage of us.

Just got a new space (upgrading from a smaller unit) and Kenny was so professional from when he sold the idea of ugrading to me to when we closed the deal, he is a good salesman too. He also gave me a great deal.

I had the best experience today at public storage. I went to public storage on Bladensburg Road where the unit was a little too small but the young lady there suggested that I go to the one on Tuxedo Road where I was assisted by a guy named Kenny. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile he didn't know that I was coming from another location but he assisted me with great customer service just like the first young lady. I can only speak for the two locations that I went to today but if their customer service is like this throughout all of their facilities they're doing a great job and also the facilities was clean and well kept at both locations.

We're here in Maryland, once again, using all the resources we can to make as smooth as possible a transition for the estate of a deceased relative. Darryl is one of the good people we've met in this county who has made the process so much more straightforward and manageable. He took us directly to our storage area, made us aware of the many other helpful services Public Storage has to offer, and helped us understand the long-term figures regarding the storage and timing of our furniture and other goods.

Simply put.... I just personally feel the building was better taken cared of and in better overall shape before Public Storage took over the place. A lot stuff around the place seems to need repairing. Be it a gate that wont open or keypad with missing buttons. Never had these issues before it was Public storage.
