The process was easy and painless, employees are cordial and patient, and the amount of space, as well as the insurance policies and the locks that are made available on sight, are more than acceptable compared to past experienced I've witnessed and as this is my first time getting a storage of my own, I appreciate the capability and lovely cadence I was presented with by the staff.

Exactly what I needed
I recently had another storage unit broken into, so I am happy to see cameras, alarms, and great on-site staff person. It was clean and orderly. Oh, and the elevators and carts made my tough move after the incident less stressful and physically hard on me.

OK, so, I reserved a storage unit back in the beginning of July and when I went there I did the paperwork that lasted about 45 minutes and then when I went to see my unit, it was 1/2 the size I requested and in the refrigerated section (e.g. for wine storage)! I was not interested and wanted my money back. In this whole process, I also bought a lock from them for $14.13 and had already paid a $10 deposit. The front desk person, who was really nice, said she couldn't put it back on my card and they had to have a check sent to me in 2 weeks I reluctantly accepted. I was busy for the next couple months and contacted them again September via email and physically went back to the place. The manager who was really nice as well communicated that her district manager had to help make this happen. I was told that I would have my credit early next week (why I could get credited on my cc now made no sense....actually originally not being able to get credited on my card makes absolutely no sense). I didn't. I emailed probably over 5 times to get at least the $14.13 refunded. The $10 is still not refunded and I'm writing this on Oct 10th!!! I just filed for a dispute with my credit card company to get the rest of my money back. If only I could charge for waisted time! I know this place is cheap, but trust me this experience was not worth it at all!
P.S. One of their locations got broken into and they didn't have immediate security come to help prevent countless of items from being stolen.

Great price on self-storage in Marin
I went to look at all the other storage units in Marin that were in a similar price range. StorQuest beat out the others on every level so I rented a unit here.

Personnel Make the Difference
I am not a big fan of the "William Warren Way" of corporate management of storage facilities... I have three other large lockers at another location and can see the difference in the way the facilities are managed... The thing that has kept me at Storquest is the people "on the ground" who do a terrific job working their way through the corporate structure and personalizing the relationship... Through many personnel changes over the years there have been high caliber people on site that are able to maintain a standard to offset the seemingly questionable rent increases and dysfunction of the phone and computer system... Without them I would have left Storquest a long time ago...

Good if not great place to store wine
I found staff to be very helpful and work with me, including signing up for an entire year. Wine storage has been kept to temperature with no thought of any security issues. My only knock is that the alarm goes off (it is VERY loud) somethimes within facility even if proper code is entered. I would definitely recommend it.

Storage unit rates too hig!
In the years that I have rented from StorQuest the biggest concern for me has to watch this business go crazy in recent years with rate increases. It has gotten excessive and it is the biggest negative about StorQuest.

I think this is a well-run facility with good personnel. The climate control has always seemed ideal when I've visited (about once a month) and no knowledge of power failures. The price is excellent compared to other wine storage places, as is the location near 101. The security appears comprehensive and easy to navigate. There are always dollies and carts to use. The wine area has a nice decorative touch. The staff person present has always been friendly and helpful.

I wanted to store 15 cases of fine wine. The storage capacity for PROPERLY cased wine does not include cardboard boxes with cardboard dividers, so the idea that properly cased wine will fir in the storage space provided is an illusion. It really takes three times the space than is advertised. So one needs to understand that. The folks at the store really don't know wine. They are in the storage sales business. So be forewarned. Also, I tried to pay for a year in advance and that was a problem. I had my agent do the work for me, and the ability to pay was VERY difficult. I would recommend this facility only b because it exists, not that it is easy to deal with, or the staff knows wine and capacities.
