Unit I was assigned did not match description

I ordered a 6x10x8 and the room I was assigned when I arrived was not those dimensions so I got charged extra to get another unit since my stuff would not fit in the assigned unit. Horrible experience

Very pleased with this facility's flexibility and price point. Late access would be nice, however I appreciate the security concerns. The staff are lovely and helpful, and the facility has places to park outside on the street as well as inside the unit, plus push cart dollies, which are extremely helpful. I'm happy to know my things are safe and that the staff is happy to help. I love the elevator, too! Choose this spot for your storage needs!

Helpful service with some technical glitches

I felt like I got a good deal on the unit and the manager was very helpful with whatever I needed. The freight elevator could definitely use some instruction signage—and it feels like a puzzle to figure out the first time you use it. My gate code also didn't work at all the first day so needed the manager to let me in.

Friendly helpful staff

I appreciated the help situating some larger items. I was disappointed the space was 8 sq ft smaller than expected. You made a fair price reduction, but the extra space would have allowed us to keep our stuff organized instead of cramming it into every available nook and cranny. The maintenance guy should wear a mask in a building filled with strangers. People are dying from Covid and I don't want to be one of them.

Good customer service but shady facility

The location is great and the people behind the desk are nice and helpful, but thats about it. The parking at the facility is only for two cars at a time, and loading/unloading is difficult with very small carts and a locked gate between the cars and the very old freight elevator. The storage rooms are very basic - no lighting, and not particularly clean.

This place is really dingy and dirty. Walking around it feels like you're in a maze from a Saw movie. The first storage unit they offered me had a giant pole in it reducing the square footage by 1-2 feet! The storage unit I ended up with doesn't have a pole but does look like a dungeon. I guess it wouldn't be so bad to be locked up in there though because a 10 year old could probably kick down the door. No wonder they *require* you to buy additional insurance. ...But at least I'm saving $60 a month, so I guess that's worth it?

This was the most affordable place in the area and they were very helpful to me. My one issue was that I rented a storage unit that was supposed to be 8 feet deep but it was 7. However, they were very helpful and we ended up making that unit work.

Decent facility, extremely affordable

Less than $30 a month for a 40 sq ft upper unit is pretty unheard of. Also got first month free as part of a promo. However, the first unit I saw had huge rat droppings. The worker was kind though and moved me to a different, cleaner unit on a different floor. The facility smells old/damp and there seem to a many homeless people who live out of (though not in) storage units here. Despite the negatives, this place fit my needs.

Horrible service, unclean, overpriced, sketchy, stolen credit cards...

I started out my encounter realizing that I'd been scammed in a bait and switch operation. The reservation I made wasn't fulfilled- they tried to sell me a smaller size for over twenty more dollars per unit. The first one he showed me had no light in it, it was smelly and filthy dirty. They didn't even bother to sweep it. The locks are sketchy, the carts don't go into half the units so you have to transport heavy stuff from hallway to unit. The guy left my credit card unattended and it was stolen by another customer. When I asked him to call the police and report it while I cancelled the card- he refused and instead grabbed my U-Haul truck keys and went to move my truck out of the facility. His only concern was to get out of work by closing time. When I grabbed my keys out of his hand and told him he can't operate the truck- he was very rude. I had to pay an extra day of the uhaul truck because I didn't have a credit card to pay the fees and was late. When I called on Monday to report it to manager-he pretended to be the manager. When I tried to locate the district manager- they never bothered to call me back. Needless, to say I am going to have to rent another truck and move my stuff out of there because the place creeps me out. Worst service ever.

Yuck! I signed the contract to soon out of desperation

The building is rundown and the floors were filthy with random litter and holes in walls but I thought it would be ok. I didn't hear the rats squealing in the walls until I had already dragged my first boxes in. I'm looking for another facility as we speak that place is disgusting. Unfortunately I don't think I can get my money back.

Cheap but gets the job done

I was looking for a small unit for plastic bins of clothes and books; this was the cheapest rate and most convenient location. There was a deal going through spare foot so I made an online reservation for the same day. The gent working was incredibly busy and juggling multiple customers my entire time there. He gave me the rate I got online (even though there was a different discount I -could- have gotten based on demand), but gave me a really convenient unit on the first floor instead of an upper floor. There are rat traps set every 5 feet and he was very adamant about all boxes and bins being sealed tightly and definitely no food in any of them. The latch on my unit is pretty janky and it looks like you could take a hammer to it to bust it open. With it being one of the lockers requiring a hard-to-find ladder, and the number of people who had issues with the gate code not working, I'm not that worried about the safety of my stuff. The rat traps though… those are a little unsettling.

I reserved a 8 x 10 space thinking I would have plenty of ceiling space to stack my boxes and some bags and stand my mattresses up....I only had about 2 feet where this was possible due to the small spaces they placed above my space..there are rodent traps EVERYWHERE, which concerns me....hopefully I'll be out in a couple weeks.....

Kept waiting for the catch

The staff when I checked in was very courteous and professional. Compared to other places that want ridiculous money this place seems like a very good deal. When giving me the briefing on the place and its policies I kept waiting for the catch, they will charge minimum one year to get this price. Nope. You can't move out anytime you want. Nope. You have to use a credit card. Nope. You have to buy our $50 a month insurance. Nope. They didn't try to rip me off in any way I could see which is what I'd expect at a place that charges a fraction of what others want. Just good service and a good enough facility. On the negative side I'd say that the little space I rented seems like it would not be hard at all to break into, but I'm not storing gold in there, just my work gear. So if you are reading this please don't break into my unit.

This was the worst experience I have ever had!!!!

The employee at Storage Mart confirmed with me the size unit I had requested. I told him that the biggest item I needed to store was my bed. He assured me that it would fit. When I arrived, he again confirmed that this would fit and that the bed was the biggest item. He then placed me in another unit closer to the elevator. Upon trying to move items into this unit, I realized that this unit was not the correct/requested size. The bed absolutely would NOT fit. After 2 hours, the front desk man then put me in a larger unit for 4 times the price of the original quote! The whole time this occured, the front desk man was fighting with another employee. There was a used condom on the ground when moving in!!! This was the worst experience I have ever had trying to move. I would not have chosen this storage facility had I know what was going to happen. After moving all of my things out, into the elevator, out of the moving truck, into the 1st storage locker and then back out because it was TOO SMALL, I was completely exhausted and done with the whole situation. WORST PLACE EVER!!!!

Rumors of rats and other pests, as well as a smell issue that was covered by excessive disinfecting sprays make me unsure of the cleanliness of the building and hesitant about leaving my things there over the summer. Service, price and security are all satisfactory, so I'd suggest investing in an exterminator and new carpets, maybe some paint jobs in order to keep customers

Kept having issues with trying to get in to the building, but everything else was great.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only issue was getting into the gate to put my stuff inside. But that also assures me that if i can't get in, then thief's cannot either so that works out. One other complaint is another customer told me there was rats and the building was unclean, i don't know if this is true or not but it worries me, so it should be looked into and will be considered next summer when I'm trying to decide where I want to store my things again.

StorageMart has the best rates for storage I've come across. I just needed the smallest space available (I think it's around 5x5x4?) since I only have a few boxes, but everywhere else I looked was charging $70+ per month while StorageMart charged $30 (around $40 with insurance). The customer service is also great; staff were really friendly and helpful.

Not in the best neighborhood, not the best hours, not the fanciest facility but excellent service with a smile and unbeatable prices. The clerk was really transparent about their policies and practices, informing me I'd receive a couple rent increases over the next couple years to bring my price from $30/mo to $45 or so. Note that their "lockers" are basically attic spaces above their normal spaces, with separate doors above the regular doors, so you'll need to use one of their moveable staircases to load it up. Not ideal if you're moving heavy boxes full of books, but again, super cheap, and I'm not planning on moving things in/out terribly often.

I haven't finished using my storage space yet but so far it's fine. The place is convenient and I've already gone back to take stuff out since I moved in. The people who work there are really nice. Unfortunately I chose it for the affordability I noticed online and when I got there realized it was for a attic-like space that wouldn't work so I had a big price increase from what I expected. But they were pretty flexible with some deals. I made sure to get a good lock for my unit because it seems like the gate is easy to get through. I was able to pull right in and take care of everything really quick and easy- it'll do.

I went to storageMart because storage.com promised me a first floor, outside unit for $110/mo. When I got there they tried to give me a second floor unit for $120. I had to show them my email to get the right unit (even though it was indoors) at the quoted price. It wasn't a problem but it shouldn't have happened.

The price is good but other aspects of renting from them make it less than ideal.

My overall experience was decent but I feel like they have a bunch of policies that are put in place just to extract more money from the customer. An example is that you have to give a 15 day notice that you plan to relinquish your unit, and you can't pro-rate your rent if you want to move out in the middle of the month. If you think about this, there is no good reason to do this as the demand for storage units may peak in the beginning of the month but should remain relatively constant over the other weeks, so they shouldn't create such a huge incentive to move at only a certain time. The other sketchy policy is to require an additional fee if you don't have renters/homeowner's insurance to cover your unit. They told me that the fee would be an additional $10 per month for my unit. Which makes one think that they are providing insurance, but when you read the form and all the exceptions, one would be hard-pressed to come up with a situation where they would actually pay for damage or loss to your property.

I ordered a 10x10 online and when i got there it was not avail so i was offered a 9x10 so some of my things had to go in the back seat of my car & friends had to come pick out things to take to their homes 4me. Other customers were complaning of Rats urin & stool in their storage units so in front of me they all put on mask because the rat infested unit was so BAD! I was horrified. But had no choice but to take my storage space and will be looking to move it in a few months once i get over this past weekends move i am still tired from it
