Living Room Space Savers: Storage Coffee Tables

14 October 2015 by

We’re always looking to showcase furniture pieces that serve multiple purposes. When you don’t have a lot of space but need storage, a storage coffee table can really help you out. Here are a few favorites from the experts.

Remember that when it comes to storage, it’s not just about hiding things, it’s also about making a statement and keeping your rooms looking stylish and comfortable. Coffee tables are a must-have piece in your living room but they can really take up space, so look for fun tables that are functional to make the most of your space.

Allison Cooper, Editor and Writer at Beyond Stores says that agrees that you can have style and convenience in one piece of furniture.

“Storage coffee tables are particularly beneficial because they are as functional as they can be stylish, which is especially important for people who are living in apartments or smaller homes where saving space is crucial,” says Cooper.

And if you’re looking to have things handy, Cooper says that having storage space in your coffee table can also be a great source of entertainment.

“I happen to love storing photo albums in my storage coffee table; friends love looking at my wedding album or pictures from when my sons were babies!” shares Cooper.

Consider Your Options

The Comfortable Feel

“Storage coffee tables come in a variety of styles, shapes and sizes, so anyone can find the right storage coffee table for their home! I personally like coffee tables that are a mix of contemporary style and comfort, so a round coffee table made with bonded leather would really catch my eye,” explains Cooper.

Classic Styles

“I also have a soft spot for the classics, so I don’t mind coffee tables with visible drawers as well,” says Cooper.

There are many more styles aside from these ones mentioned but Cooper reminds us that regardless of the style you choose, it’s important to keep in mind the space you have to play with.

“As with any coffee table, you need to make sure that it is the right size and proportionate to the rest of your living room furniture.  The only extra thing to keep in mind is to check the depth of the storage compartments or drawers depending on how you plan to use them,” says Cooper.

And although there are a plethora of choices out there, you now have a little insight into what the experts in furniture recommend.

Cooper says that either way you do it “having such a multi-functional piece in your home is worth spending a little extra.”
