If you’ve ever moved before, you will know just how hectic it tends to be. However, with careful planning, your move can be far from hectic, if you put your mind and energy into it. If you are sick and tired of moving and you hate moving because it is so stressful and money-consuming, you are not on your own. In fact, you are among the thousands of other people that despise moving. There is a solution though. That is to follow these steps and then you will see just how smooth your move can be. Once you know these tips, you can use them for a lifetime.

Make a list of all the tasks you need to do and stick to that list. You will be really thankful later on. Keep a record of everything you need to do, everything you need to pack and so on. We really can’t stress enough how important it is to plan well. Without a good, concrete plan, your move to Zurich is bound to fail. In addition, create a moving checklist. Write down all the chores you need to carry out and when a chore has been completed, check it off the list. This is a great way to get organised.

Purchase plenty of materials

You need lots of boxes and lots of packing materials to pack well. You can either get these from a moving company or from your grocery. Either way, make sure you pick up plenty. You will also need strong tape, bubble wrap, labels and cellophane. Make sure you have all your packing materials at hand.

Pack before moving day

Do not leave the packing until the day of the move. It will only make moving much more stressful and you might run out of time. Set yourself plenty of time to carry out this task because, depending on how much stuff you have, it might take you up to a day or more.

Use space

Don’t waste any space at all. If you have suitcases or duffel bags, use these as a form of box. Fill them with towels and bedding. This will save you a lot of space and money too. There’s no point in leaving them empty.

Keep your valuable items at hand

It is a good idea not to pack valuable items in boxes. Instead, keep them with you on the trip. Otherwise, they may get stolen during the trip. For this reason, it would be much better to keep them with you. If you haven’t the room, store them in a box that states house goods.

Keep documents with you

To some people this is obvious, to others it is not. Nevertheless, it is important to keep birth certificates, bank records, bills, mover estimates and so on with you during the move. You should certainly not leave them in the hands of the mover. Basically, any document of importance should be by your side at all times throughout your move to Zurich.

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and has a population of 390,000. There are numerous interesting sites in this city, as you can probably imagine.
