This morning I turned on the radio, only to find that my favorite radio station had been hijacked with Christmas music, I’m not complaining, it just seems to be a little early for Christmas music since Halloween just occurred Sunday. However, one self storage company is gearing up for the holiday season, in hopes of inspiring you to do the same.
A-1 Self Storage is partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps to support their annual Toys for Tots Holiday Toy Drive. A-1 Self Storage has 40 locations throughout the California area, which will serve as official drop off locations for the toy drive. A-1 will be collecting new and unused toys to be given to under privileged children in the local California area.
“A-1 Self Storage is proud to make a difference in our local communities by participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program again this year. We understand that the recession and high employment threatens to deprive many children of getting a gift this Christmas” said Brian Caster, President and CEO of Caster Companies. “We feel it is important to bring hope and the joy of Christmas to needy children. Last year’s event was a huge success and we hope to be able to collect even more toys for deserving children this year.”
Personally I think this is an excellent charity to participate in if you’re looking for a way to give a little back to your community during the holiday season. Every year my family and I sponsor a family for Christmas, buying presents off of a wish list for under privileged children in the local Kansas City area. My brother and I feel that we are “too old” for presents now so we hope our donations will brighten up someone else’s childhood. So even if you’re not in California check out the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation and search for a local drop off location to donate your new and unused toys.
Throughout the holiday season we will be spotlighting members of the self storage industry who are going above and beyond in their communities, giving you tips on how to get involved and give back this holiday season.
