American Mini Storage - Lake Worth

Owner.Policy,Mgmnt changes every other day....
**NO STAR RATING. THIS DESERVES A 4F.**I have been there over 3 years and paid 6mos ahead. I have seen the ownership change 5 times and with each new owner, the mgmnt (of which needs to change) the rules and regulations, and rent changed without notice. Now my rent has been raised $50 per mo., where the original contract stated that if you pay ahead of the due date the rent stays the same. Mgmnt was a bartender for years and treated me like a barfly that comes in regularly. His wife used to work there too, but now he'll be the only one you will face in the messy, bare office. I've received 4 flats due to the fact of him not cleaning up the storage area. If there is a personality conflict between him and you the customer, lot of luck getting along. It's like a vengeance and I often avoided contact with mgmnt. When I paid for 6 mos ahead, his last words were,"where did you get the money?" His wife looked at him like, how dare you asked him the question. My 1st change of rent notice, had in the email at the bottom can keep the original rent if you pay ahead of time. Kept the ad to hold as evidence it I needed it, and on Feb. 11, 2012 and the ad was changed to rent has gone up and the rest erased. Has a commercial sign out front sz,"no more long rental contracts!" Now I'm like others, due to harsh customer service I have received, moving to another peaceful place for my man cave storage unit. Don't be the next in line!!

My Experience was very pleasant...
We just looked up a unit online and for our daughter who is moving in with us. Derek the manager onsite called us back with in about ten mins. He offered to show us the unit so we stopped at the property. Derek showed us two units and we went with smaller one. He gave us half off three months as a special which was better than competitors. He also let us borrow a dolly for our move at no cost, and loaded it in my car for me. We are very pleased with our experience.

Extremely Rude if Questioned
Don't pay in advance at American Mini Storage in Lake Worth.. Customer service at this place leaves a lot to be desired. My husband paid for two months rent on storage, found another place closer to where we live, well we found out very rudely that there are no refunds on payments. But the man said we could have a deal on a truck since we were interested in moving all at once. I objected to not getting a refund, he told us we were screwing him out of rental if we got our money back. We did not have a problem leaving the money for December, so he could have had that and still rent it out. I have to admit about this I was copping an attitude over lost money. So he reached in the drawer and took out some money and threw it on the counter and said "Your Welcome". then proceeded to tell his wife to charge us full price for the rental truck. Great customer service NOT! It is an advertised fact that you .get 3 months at half price, this is not a military discount s he was trying to tell us. He made us feel like it was a personal favor when he said we were screwing him over. so since we are paid until the end of December and cannot get a prorated refund and the price on the truck was almost double what it was last month when we rente one, I guess we will take box by box, until the unit is empty on 31 Dec. because this company will not get another penny from us. My husband is retired military and I have worked in retail with customers for over 30 years, never have I endured this type of service. This place is over priced compared to all in the area, the only reason we went there was convenience, and the special. There are no signs in the area that state no refunds, but they said they just have never given any refunds before. So iF you want to throw your money away, just pay in advance and let him get ahead, I am sure he will be very happy to take it from you. Very disappointed in Lake Worth.·

Cleaner than I have ever used
I was so surprised to find that the property was a storage facility, it looks like a persons home, and is amazingly clean. I suggest you renting from them....

Just what I needed
The managers are very helpful and friendly and are always accessible if I have a problem. THe climate controlled units are cool (since it is 105 degrees every day) and I was able to secure my unit online from another town before driving up with my belongings.
