SmartStop - S. State Rd. 7

I am very pleased with price and the unit, however I arrived 1 minute passed closing because I could not find the location and I had called to let them know I was on my way and I needed the storage that night because I had to have my stuff out of my house by the next morning. The customer service rep said absolutly not and would not let me in. I asked for the manager and he even gave me a hard time after I told him I called and explained everything. In the end I finally begged and pleaded for 10 minutes with him and he said fine hurry up. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service!

Bait & Switch?
I was prompted to choose SmartStop partially because of their offer of the use of a FREE TRUCK. I called specifically to reserve the truck on 5/7 and they assured me that my reservation was confirmed for the truck. Thankfully the night before my move, I called to just double check and let them know i would be there at 10am for the truck - the rep on the phone acted like i was crazy and said they haven't had a truck for months. I even went back to look at my email confirmation and i see: Move in on or before Friday, June 01 Free truck is available, contact (954) 587-6601 to reserve it. It being the 1st of the month, an available truck on a moments notice was very difficult to find --- though I did find one, i spent $100 for the rental --- I'm hoping that karma will come back to me, since the prize for writing this review is exactly $100 :-) will let you know! (other than that, the unit and staff were as expected)

Not Bad!
There are lots of dead bugs within the hall ways. It says they have ac units, but it still seemed hot inside them. Other than that, this place is GREAT!!!

Ridiculous
I was excited when learning you get free use of a truck up to 25 miles worth to help you move into your unit, but that also created the problem encountered when the sales person was completely unreasonable. I drove 10 miles total and when I went to return the truck, there was noone in the office. The salesperson did tell me when I took the truck out to return it with the same gas in it as when I left (half full), but I figured that 10 miles could not use that much gas, so I did not add any. Since I had to chase down the salesperson to give him the keys to the truck, he did not check the gas gauge right away. After I returned home and got into the middle of another project, the rep called me and told me I had to come back to the store and fill the tank back up to half way. It is only 5 miles away, but I was in the middle of something else, so I asked him to just add $10 to my bill for the gas used. He said he needed to charge me $40 if I did not return. I told him that was ridiculous for 10 miles of driving. He basically said tough. So I had to go back and add $10 in gas to get it to where it needed to be. They need to be more reasonable, especially when the person was not in the office to check the truck back in properly. What could have been a nice touch with the free use of the truck, turned into a ridiculous customer service moment. Shame.

Very Nice
This place is very clean and the staff are helpful, courteous and nice.

Helpful & Easy
Good experience - helpful in finding the right storage facility and easy to schedule. I had to change my check-in date and that was easy too plus I spoke with a very nice person.
